SYNOPSIS
The Biblical saga of Joseph and his coat of many colours comes to vibrant life in this delightful parable. Joseph, his father's favourite son, is a boy blessed with prophetic dreams. When he is sold into slavery by his jealous brothers and taken to Egypt, Joseph endures a series of adventures in which his spirit and humanity are continually challenged. Set to an engaging cornucopia of musical styles, from country-western and calypso to bubble-gum pop and rock 'n' roll, this Old Testament tale emerges both timely and timeless.

WORKSHOP
Do you have a budding theatre performer at home looking for something to do in the school holidays?
Some Clues – they watch Disney movies over and over singing loudly with all the songs – and possibly have all the dialogue down pat as well. They act out in front of the mirror – or to you – and most things are a tragedy or incredible but never just boring middle-of-the-road. Life is a song – in the shower, in the car, in the morning !!!
So by January 13 they will have watched all the movies they can and they will be looking for a creative outlet.
Enter – ROAR Academy and their Holiday Workshop.
Over the course of 5 days Monday to Friday we will take your budding theatre superstars and together we will create a magical piece of musical theatre which at the end of the week they can then perform for you, their friends and family.
This January we will be working on JOSEPH and the AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT.
It’s perfect for ages 5 through to 18yrs – with leading roles, ensemble roles, character roles and choir roles.
The music was written by ANDREW LLOYD WEBER (Phantom of the Opera, Jesus Christ Superstar and Evita to name a few) and has a variety of musical styles throughout including rock, country, calypso and rock ‘n roll (Elvis style).
Your theatre star will be VERY busy for the week and will have the added joy of creating – making friends and making a show.
