AND NOW, TAKING THEIR SHOT, PLEASE SUPPORT THE STUDENTS OF ROAR ACADEMY
We look forward to welcome you to experience MY SHOT, a special evening of cabaret entertainment presented by some fantastic young talent from ROAR Academy. We invite you to enjoy a specially prepared programme of musical theatre hits.
To give you some background, MY SHOT is a multifaceted title for this particular cabaret that was crafted from a 3-day workshop run by Thomas-Armstrong Robley, David O’Keeffe and Zac Crisan in the recent school holidays. Not only do we capitalise on the wonderful impact Lin Manuel Miranda’s ground-breaking Hamilton has had on popular culture in the last few years and make a direct reference to his lyrical work but we also, in using this quote, encourage these young individuals to take their own proverbial shot and seize the opportunities placed in front of them.
With that in mind, on day 1 of the process this cast of 20 were presented with songs and dialogue completely blindly and challenged to learn them, stage them and develop them within a 3 day rehearsal period. The creative team are thrilled with the passion and the energy that these young performers have displayed and hope you will come along and support the finished result on stage at THEATRE 102.
