MADELEINE JOHNSPRINCIPAL, HEAD OF DRAMA
Madeleine is the principal, and a teacher, of Roar Academy. She is also a founding member and the President of Redcliffe Musical Theatre. It is her vision that has been the driving force behind Roar Academy and its development of local youth and their talent in the performing arts. Madeleine is also an accomplished actor who has performed on stage in many plays and musicals in cities like Redcliffe, Sydney, and Jakarta. She has fulfilled roles such as Maria in West Side Story, Princess Winnifred, and the Wicked Queen, in Once Upon a Mattress, a soloist in Jerry’s Girls and The Wicked Witch in The Wizard of Oz, among others. Madeleine was the 2012 Moreton Bay Council Cultural Award winner and her passion for developing Musical Theatre in the region.

HELEN DREWGuest VOCAL COACH and MUSIC DIRECTOR
Helen is a classically trained pianist who is accomplished in many instruments, including voice. She has performed in several choirs, including the Conservatorium of Music, Newcastle. Helen has also performed many times as a soloist and/or accompanist throughout her music career, including weddings, church events and community events and was even one-third of an Andrews Sisters' tribute show. Helen is a recognised teacher with the Australian Music Examinations Board (AMEB) and her previous pupils have ALL received Honours in their exams. With years of experience teaching students individually and in group settings, Helen has the knowledge and expertise to bring out the best in her students.

TAYLOR TRANMUSIC THEATRE, VOCAL COACH, DANCE
Taylor Tran is an Adelaide performer and teacher who is moving to Brisbane in 2023. She has trained with esteemed companies including Broadway Dance Centre and Australian Teachers of Dancing whilst maintaining her training at TIDC Performing Arts Studio. In 2021, she obtained her Certificate III in Dance with Empowerdance. Taylor made her professional debut in John Frost and Opera Australia's production of South Pacific at the Festival Theatre. Since then, Taylor has performed ron local, national, and international stages including Around the World (Shane International), A Thousand Cranes Fringe tour (Gemini Collective), Disneyland and Universal Studio Performances (Australian Youth Performing Arts Team 2019) and demonstrating for the Australian Teachers of Dancing Musical Theatre Syllabi. Taylor has much experience in the world of Broadway Junior Licenses performing and teaching many productions including Shrek Jr, High School Musical Jr, Newsies Jr and many more with the Adelaide Youth Theatre. Through the Junior Theatre Festival, she was also invited to be a part of the creative teams piloting new Junior MTI (Music Theatre International) licenses in both Adelaide and Melbourne. Taylor is thrilled to be working with Roar Academy in 2023 and can’t wait to meet all of the lovely performers.

JAKE HOLLINGSWORTHDRAMA
Jake graduated from the University of Canberra with a Bachelor's Degree in Acting and Performance in 2017 and has acted in venues and theatre festivals throughout Brisbane. In 2018 Jake traveled to the United Kingdom where he performed in outdoor Shakespeare plays and Christmas pantomimes. It was the experience he gained from his studies, as well as his love of literature, that qualified Jake to work at the Jane Austen Centre in the city of Bath as an actor and tour guide. Jake has also worked in Wales as a drama teacher and children's vocal coach. Experienced in writing and self directing, Jake performed his own solo piece called The Theory of Emotion in 2014 and has continued to showcase it at theatres and festivals in Australia, including Short and Sweet in 2017. Jake's performance credentials include The Poet and the Women by Aristophanes, Julius Caesar by Shakespeare, Algernon in Oscar Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest, Dickens' David Copperfield, Downtown at Theatre 102, and Wedekind's Spring Awakening in which he portrayed Melchior. A student of acting for more than three years, Jake gained experience in the Suzuki Method created by Japanese theatre director Tadashi Suzuki, and the Performance Endurance Training system devised and instructed by Lisa O'Neill.
